What is an IBAN (International Bank Account Number)?

IBAN stands for 'International Bank Account Number.'

It starts with a two-digit country code and then a two-digit control part, there is then a reference to the Bank's local code and an individual's domestic account number.

How do I find my IBAN?

You can find your IBAN on your Account Statement in Online Banking, or on the top right hand corner of your statement.

Alternatively please contact us and we’ll be delighted to tell you.
What are the advantages of IBAN?

It’s advantageous because:

  1. International payments are quicker and more efficient. This is because banks can confirm the number belongs to the recipient before making payments.
  2. Service fees may be cheaper.

All international payments to and from Europe require an IBAN and SWIFT ID / SWIFT CODE / SWIFTBIC
